Performance and Value
The Air Pen Drive system is operated using compressed air (6–8 bar) and can be controlled via either a hand switch or foot pedal, offering flexible speed regulation. An integrated irrigation system helps keep cutting tools cool during extended use. The handpiece accepts a variety of interchangeable, quick‑connect attachments, allowing surgeons to seamlessly switch between drilling, sawing, burring, and wire placement applications. Every refurbished unit undergoes rigorous testing, calibration, and component servicing, backed by our expert repair and maintenance services to ensure long‑term dependability.
Available Attachments
A full range of attachments is available separately to expand the versatility of the Synthes Air Pen Drive. This includes the Oscillating Saw Attachment (05.001.038) operating at 16,000 oscillations per minute at 6.5 bar, compatible with crescentic and 105° angled saw blades; the Kirschner Wire Driver (05.001.120), capable of tensioning 0.6–1.6 mm K‑wires at approximately 2,700 rpm; and the AO/ASIF Drill Attachment (05.001.032) for use with standard AO/ASIF reamers and drill bits. OPHTHALMON verifies compatibility and performance for every attachment, allowing you to build a tailored system for your specific clinical needs.
